In the pipeline, it is a kind of pipe fitting used to regulate the flow, cut off or switch the pipeline and play a role of safety and control on the pipeline. It is usually called needle valve. According to the different functions of needle valve in pipeline, there are some differences, such as cut-off valve (also known as automatic slow closing check valve), throttle valve, slow closing check valve and safety needle valve. It can also be divided into gate valve, cock (often called cork), ball valve, full open water control valve, diaphragm valve, lining valve and other valves according to the different structure of needle valve. In addition, there are stainless steel valves, cast steel valves, cast iron valves, plastic valves, ceramic valves and so on.
